Tea CompassChinese tea, made approachable

Tea gifts for beginners: a useful small set

Match their taste, keep the equipment simple and include clear brewing instructions.

Ask about their cup

Ask about floral, malty or roasted flavors, usual brewing equipment, caffeine and avoided ingredients. Tea Finder suggests styles; it cannot guarantee enjoyment or verify lower caffeine.

A sample set beats a blind large cake

Give a few labeled small samples with different flavors and supplier instructions. Avoid a large cake or strong smoky or earthy style without knowing their taste. These are planning suggestions, not tested products.

Make the first brew easy

A roomy basket strainer can suit an existing heat-safe mug. Check fit and cleaning. A gaiwan is optional. Include leaf amount, water volume and time; expensive clay is unnecessary.

Keep the label and leave room for preference

Keep ingredient labels and a gift receipt when available. Do not promise health benefits. Our current tea-tree catalog does not suit a caffeine-free requirement; check another product’s complete ingredients.

Roasted Tieguanyin

焙火铁观音
